WA6188SWL -Janice
Hey everyone,
My name is Janice Shedrick, and I started my radio journey in June 2025 on GMRS out of curiosity, which quickly grew when I heard about emergency communications, repeaters, and field ops.
In November, I connected with a group on Zello (SWLQSL), and that’s when SWL really took off for me — I still remember hearing Oaxaca, Mexico for the first time. I received my SWL call WA6188SWL later that month in November.
I earned my Technician license in January 2026 and have been enjoying amateur radio ever since — mainly listening across 40, 20, and 10 meters, sending SWL reports, and exploring digital modes. Most of my HF monitoring is done via handhelds (Radtel 950 Pro) and an RTL-SDR with an MLA-30 loop while I work toward my first HF rig.
Still learning, still listening, and looking forward to making great contacts.
73,
Janice (KJ5NYP – WSIV713 – WA6188SWL)
